For 2008 the big news in our Alpine line-up is an all new frame based on our latest Trophy frame design. It's rendered on Double-Butted 6061 aluminum and features shaped and ovalized downtube and box gussets as well as attractive twin spar seatstays. While based on the race oriented Trophy design, the Alpine has a slightly slacker head angle for a more stable ride. Combine that with its increased 100mm fork travel and the new Alpine frame is the perfect choice for all-around trail blasting.

The Alpine 450 is the mainstay of our MTB line-up... a bike that instills the confidence to tackle the most menacing of obstacles (the very ones that make mountain biking such a thrilling challenge)... a bike that brings a do-it-all attitude to every ride.

The 450's drivetrain incorporates proven Shimano 24-speed Alivio components with Alivio Rapidfire trigger shifting and an upgrade to a Deore rear derailleur. The 450 also features Tektro disc brakes (now in the IoX version that uses the same easily accessible pads as many Hayes brakes) and a Rock Shox Dart fork that makes short work of most anything you throw at it. It has a rugged wheelset built with double-wall WTB rims on Formula alloy hubs and a nicely appointed cockpit set.

Experienced riders will appreciate the Alpine 450's willing responsiveness... its ability to deliver on its promise, every time. For novices, it's a blast to ride from the very start... a willing accomplice that can step its game up to the next level as your riding skills and advanced technique develops. Mud, rocks, gravel strewn ravines and blazing desert sands only encourage the 450, so bring it on! The IBEX Alpine 450 will push you to your limit and bring you home again.

Target Weight: 28.5 lbs.
