For
2008 the big news in our Alpine line-up is an all new frame
based on our latest Trophy frame design. It's rendered on
Double-Butted 6061 aluminum and features shaped and ovalized
downtube and box gussets as well as attractive twin spar
seatstays. While based on the race oriented Trophy design,
the Alpine has a slightly slacker head angle for a more
stable ride. Combine that with its increased 100mm fork
travel and the new Alpine frame is the perfect choice for
all-around trail blasting.
For
riders inclined to take on the most rugged of gravity-challenged
terrain, the IBEX Alpine 550 provides the cutting-edge stopping
power with its Hayes new MX-4 mechanical discs brakes. Add
to that the 550's new SRAM X5 drivetrain and Marzocchi MZ
Race fork with lockout and you have one of the most complete
mountain bikes ever made.
