For
2008 the big news in our Alpine line-up is an all new frame
based on our latest Trophy frame design. It's rendered on
Double-Butted 6061 aluminum and features shaped and ovalized
downtube and box gussets as well as attractive twin spar
seatstays. While based on the race oriented Trophy design,
the Alpine has a slightly slacker head angle for a more
stable ride. Combine that with its increased 100mm fork
travel and the new Alpine frame is the perfect choice for
all-around trail blasting.
It's
hard to believe, but sometimes a deal is a deal... and our
Alpine 650 is the real deal. Here's an all aluminum framed
mountain bike with better-grade components that puts you
into the good stuff without breaking your budget.
The
Alpine 650's drivetrain is pure heaven with Shimano Deore
Rapidfire shifters, Deore front derailleur and an oh-so-fine
LX rear derailleur. The crankset is Shimano's M442 driving
a Shimano chain and 11-32T cassette.
Suspension
is courtesy of a silky smooth 100mm Marzocchi MX Lockout
fork. Brakes are Avid's legendary BB-5 discs with FR-5 levers.
Add sturdy WTB SpeedDisc rims on Formula alloy hubs, a comfortable
WTB saddle, Shimano clipless platform pedals and a lightweight
UNO alloy cockpit set (handlebar, stem & seatpost) and
you have a top-notch package for experienced riders and
newbies alike.
If
you're looking for a do-it-all mountain bike that doesn't
break the bank, yet has components that won't have you running
to throw more money into parts upgrades just to make it
trailworthy, our new Alpine 650 may be the perfect bike
for you!
