of "smart" shocks like the Atlas Sport's Manitou
Metel R rear shock with Platform Plus brings a whole new
dimension to the single pivot frame architecture. Single-pivots
have long stood out for their simple, bulletproof ruggedness.
But they had a nasty habit of giving just too much pedal
feedback. These new platform style shocks virtually eliminate
the "pedal bob" and smooth the ride for a perfect
balance of rideability.
The
Atlas Sport features a terrific mix of components, with
SRAM X7 trigger shifters and rear derailleur combined with
Shimano's LX front derailleur handling the changes on the
jewel-like TruVativ Firex Team triple crankset. Braking
by Avid. Their Juicy-5 hydraulic discs are legendary for
their stopping power and ease of maintenance, while Manitou's
new Relic Elite fork (w/ air option included) brings topflight
AM performance to mid-priced bikes.

what a price it is! All-in, the Atlas Sport represents one
