For
2008 the big news on our Ignition series is the all new,
3rd generation All-Mountain frame with 120mm travel (just
shy of 5"). Highlights include 6061 aluminum construction,
multi-link rear suspension, shaped main tubes with full
gussetting and ovalized seat-tube brace. While previous
generation Ignitions have always been very capable trailbikes,
this new frame takes the Ignition series up to a whole new
level of performance... longer travel, rugged design and
well thought out geometry make the new Ignitions easily
the most capable bikes that we've ever produced in their
price range.
The
IBEX Ignition-1 steps it up yet another notch with this
all new frame matched to truly trailworthy components including
Tektro IoX mechanical disc brakes. Aggressive
trailriders and aspiring "extreme" riding enthusiasts
alike will find the Ignition-1 a perfect entry point for
a hard working full-suspension MTB that won't break the
bank and won't fall apart on you.
Highlights
include the aforementioned Tektro disc brakes, a 24-speed
Shimano Alivio/Deore drivetrain with Rapidfire shifters
and an FSA DynaDrive crankset. The
RST Gila Pro suspension fork provides 110mm of silky travel
up front. Its aluminum lowers and sturdy 30mm stanchions,
along with gutsy coil springs, make this fork one of our
favorite choices for entry level applications.
